Jarvis Raymond, guitarist and generally OK guy

Jarvis Raymond's music has been captivating audiences for years and his passion for performing has led him across the world. He is available for performances with his jazz trio and for teaching in both clinics and private study.

Beginning as early as age twelve, Jarvis Raymond has been playing guitar and composing for the better part of his life. In 2001, Jarvis Raymond was accepted to Millikin University where he studied classical guitar under NPR soloist Manley Mallard and received the Young Artists Award. In 2002, he transferred to Northern Illinois University where he studied jazz under virtuoso guitarist Fareed Haque and received his Bachelors of Music with honors. In 2007 Jarvis Raymond completed his Masters of Music at Webster University and graduated with honors. That same year he had the privilege of studying with jazz legend Jack Wilkins in New York City.

Since then he has performed and toured both nationally and internationally with musical theater productions, on cruise ships and with his own trio. In 2011 he had the opportunity to travel to South Africa to perform with Afrikaans vocalist Julia Conradie. Currently, Jarvis resides in Chicago where he performs and teaches music, in addition to working in web marketing.
